Some residents of Vanderbijlpark in the Vaal are still without electricity following an explosion at their main substation on Sunday.
The outage has affected several residential areas including Bophelo, Bonane and parts of the Vanderbijlpark CBD.
Residents say they are immensely affected and they had to discard food from their refrigerators as it was rotten.
A resident says they frequently experience power outages.
“That substation it burns and there are so many times that something happening at that substation and in this area, we have been struggling electricity for sometimes two, three or five days and up to three weeks in some areas.”
