Limpopo Transport Department spokesperson Matome Tauetsoala says preliminary reports indicate that one of the minibus taxis attempted to overtake the other.
The road near Seshego Cross is closed and motorists are urged to use alternative routes.
“We want to confirm that there is an accident involving four vehicles on the Matlala road just before the Jerusalem turnoff as you drive to Polokwane; two Quantums are involved, including a NP200 and a sedan. What is reported at the moment is that the Quantum was overtaking where it was not safe to do so, therefore colliding head-on with another oncoming vehicle. At the moment, six people have passed on.”
