Police rescue 10 women from traffickers in Bushenyi, arrest two suspects

Bushenyi, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Police in Bushenyi are preserving two suspects in reference to alleged human trafficking.

Apollo Tayebwa, the Higher Bushenyi Police spokesperson, acknowledged ten women extinct between 18 and 22 — most of them Senior Four leavers — possess been rescued on Friday night.

The suspects possess been identified as Innocent Agaba, 24, a resident of Nyakashaaru Cell in Rubirizi District, and Getrude Nayebare, 24, a resident of Mpoma II Cell in Nkungu Sub-county, Kazo District.

Per Tayebwa, preliminary investigations point to that the suspects allegedly lured younger women with erroneous job affords at a firm identified as “Nature’s System” in Ishaka Metropolis.

Tayebwa added that the rescued women possess since been reunited with their households, while investigations continue to name and arrest other suspected accomplices believed to be phase of a worthy wider trafficking community.
