Former Higher Education and Training Minister Dr Nobuhle Nkabane has been appointed as the new African National Congress (ANC) Deputy Chief Whip.
She replaces Dorries Mpapane, who has been appointed as the chairperson of the newly established Committee on the Presidency.
Nkabane was axed by President Cyril Ramaphosa in July last year following controversy over the appointment of Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) board chairpersons.
The process was marred by allegations of nepotism as well as cadre deployment, and Nkabane was also accused of misleading Parliament.
