Football supporters attending Saturday afternoon’s Soweto derby featuring Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium are frustrated with the access control in place for the match. There are complaints that the verification and scanning processes take too long, and that some people may miss the kick-off as a result.

The authenticity of tickets is verified before ticket holders are allowed to proceed to the turnstiles, where their tickets are scanned again, and they’re allowed access to the stadium. Tickets for the Betway Premiership match were sold out within hours of going on sale, and approximately 90-thousand spectators are expected. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:30, but could be delayed if there are too many ticket holders still outside the venue.
