The nine suspects arrested in connection with the killing of a part-time lecturer at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) will be back in the Soshanguve Magistrate’s Court, north of Pretoria, on Monday morning.
The suspects will apply for bail. They were in court last week when the matter was postponed.
It is reported that on the 24th of last month, a part-time lecturer allegedly sexually assaulted two minors in Soshanguve.
Members of the community confronted the suspect, which resulted in him being attacked and killed.
On 27 February, nine suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.
The police have since called on communities to refrain from acts of vigilantism.
However, some community members are demanding the release of the suspects, arguing that it is unfair to arrest only nine individuals when a larger portion of the community was allegedly involved in the attack.
