A PGA AA golf professional and South African now living in Saudi Arabia says civilians are being protected amid the conflict in the Middle East.
Nisharlan Sewgolum, the grandson of the legendary South African golfer Papwa Sewgolum, has weighed in on the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Sewgolum is currently serving as a golf pro for Saudi Aramco. He has been living in Saudi Arabia for the past seven years.
Sewgolum shares his perspective from the region as tensions continue to unfold.
“From Saturday, 28th of February, missiles and jets above you are the most common sounds. When the Rasta Nura oil refinery was hit, it sort of brought a new fear into thinking because the oil refineries were not really spoken of. The thought that crossed my mind was that maybe my camp was next. The South African Embassy has not been in direct contact with us but has sent vital information on WhatsApp groups which we have registered for. While this is a tense and hostile time, civilians are well-protected in their countries.”
