Accused number two in the Senzo Meyiwa murder case Bongani Ntanzi has accused police officers of using his phone while he was in custody.
The cross examination of Ntanzi has continued at the High Court in Pretoria where he is on trial alongside four co-accused.
The five men are accused of the 2014 murder of the footballer.
Ntanzi has denied being in possession of a cellphone following his arrest in June 2020.
He says cellphone data shows there was a call back sent to one of the arresting officers – the late sergeant Steven Mabena.
“And just to show that they were busy using this phone, from this document, one can see that there’s Mabena’s number that is showing there and he has been also sent a Please Call Me. It shows the date was the 22nd of October, 2020, and the time was 19:02. and you really say I would send a call back to your police official that arrested me?”
