SABC 3 hours ago News 1 Views

The National Language Summit is expected to commence on Monday at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
The two-day summit will bring together government representatives, language experts, academics, civil society, business leaders, and other stakeholders.
This is an effort to address persistent challenges in multilingualism and advance the equal use and development of South Africa’s 12 official languages.
The summit forms part of the country’s contribution to the International Decade of Indigenous Languages Global Action Plan.
It seeks to raise awareness about indigenous language preservation, revitalisation, and promotion of indigenous languages in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
